"I don't know what I want" is often the lament of my clients, or "I know what I like when I see it, but I don't know how to make it work for my room", sound familiar?
This post is to share a couple of my favourite sources of online inspiration, as I firmly believe that creating a scrapbook of ideas will shed light on your preferences and style of interior that resonates with you... even if you don't realise you had a "style" or that the style might have a name. Your scrapbook is then a brilliant way to springboard into your project and will give your interior designer a great view of your taste and preferred direction to pursue.
So apart from being old school and then clipping and collecting images from your favourite interior magazines you can also use an online pin board such as http://pinterest.com/ where the range of images you can find is as broad as your search words (for example, key in "sunny room" and dozens of different results appear from other peoples pin boards).
Further to this I often am found referring to http://www.houzz.com/ a home design inspiration website, where you can also create "idea books" as well as keep abreast of current design trends and conversations.
Alternatively, of course, you can always follow blogs or facebook pages of interior enthusiasts. You can find (and like) Interior Decorating by Sophie on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Interior-Decorating-by-Sophie/145891375425816?ref=hl
